Creating A Sustainable Improvement Culture

If you want to change anything in an organization - from how people use email to how they manufacture products, remember this: PEOPLE BEFORE PROCESS. Seventy percent of all Lean or Continuous Improvement implementations fail because a foundation of innovation, collaboration and empowered leaders does not exist. We help our clients develop cultures where anything is possible. Using a combination of measurement, training, coaching and consulting, we build cultures that are resilient and prepared to face accelerating change.

Our model for LEAN and Continuous Improvement works like this:

Listen & Learn – is our culture ready to support a continuous improvement initiative?

The Goal: Build trust and credibility and take away the excuses that get in the way of engaging employees in “real” improvement activities. Answer the “what’s in it for me?” Engage employees in the “shared responsibility” of creating the necessary culture.

Walk the Talk Do we have the leadership and structure in place to support a continuous  improvement initiative?

Goal: Develop a “service-oriented” leadership mindset. Leaders model and create expectations for appropriate behaviours that include incentives and accountability.

Creativity Before Capital – Do we have the skills to support a continuous improvement initiative?

Goal: Do the heavy-lifting around training and installation of improvement metrics, root cause problem-solving and process improvement before spending any money on new equipment

Sustain the Culture – How do we sustain/ evolve the culture and advance the improvement process?

Goal: Develop a process that ensures continuous improvement gains will be measured, celebrated and communicated.
