Team Coaching

Team coaching is one of the best ways we know of to both improve performance and create learning that sticks for people on teams. Unlike offsite or on-site training, team coaching has the added benefit of happening in “real time”, as the team attacks solutions to real business issues. As team coaches, part of our job is to be the proverbial fly on the wall – an objective set of ears and eyes who can feedback to the group what they are doing and not doing to create the results they want. We don’t interfere with the process or your work – in fact, we help by insuring important ideas and topics are resolved and accountability for follow-through or execution is clear. We watch, listen, observe and note what makes the team work and what could make the team work better, then we show them how to do it on their own.

Team coaching is not a program or an event, but it is a process with a clear beginning, middle and end. Team coaching engagements usually last between 2 and 6 months and involve us working on-site with a team anywhere from a day every month to more frequent team contacts of once a week. Throughout the process we are working on two tracks simultaneously:
1. Accelerate the performance of the team as it addresses business issues
2. Learn the universally applicable skills of working on a high performing team
